The President of the NGO Ciscos/Ugl (International Trade Union Center for Development Cooperation) Patrizia Conte organized a fundraising program recently at the Embassy of Argentine in Rome to finance the construction of a recreational/sport gym for boys in one of the poor neighborhood in Buenos Aires. With the ambassador Thomas Ferrari, master of the house and with the other generous guests, Ciscos/Ugl were able to illustrate all the initiatives already carried out in South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa and they also present the challenges for the future made of important programs beyond national borders.
Present to the fundraising event to the Embassy of Argentine for the “Educar Jugando” is the Ambassador Ferrari who offered his prestigious halls available, for the charity evening: general secretary of the UGL Francesco Paolo Capone, who immediately said yes to the initiative; the undersecretary of Labor Claudio Durigon who underlined the collaboration between Italy and Argentina is so important and must be one the fundamental knot to be developed; Senator Franco Zaffini who expressed his appreciation for the great initiative; the deputy Francesco Zicchieri, regional coordinator of Lazio for the League; the deputy general secretaries of the Ugl Giancarlo Favoccia, Luca Malcotti, Luigi Ulgiati; Gian Luigi Ferretti, head of international relations of UGL, and the whole Ugl Confederation together with the President of Ciscos, the organizer Patrizia Conte.
The project is with regards to the supply and installation of outdoor playground and leisure equipment for the school in question with 415 students in a district of the capital Buenos Aires distinguished for its social difficulties such as drug dealing, micro-delinquency etc.
With the agreement and necessary funds, a recreational gym will be built for 415 children aged from 6 to 12 years. They are unprotected and fragile children living in a dangerous suburb and having all these facilities for them through the donation of the gym makes us optimistic about their future, because it’s with playing and having fun means to forget all the social problems and will also make their lives as children lives less difficult and a more peaceful future.
